So the way to stop cable from increasing their fees is to cancel all services? I don't think so. How about telling them exactly what you think you should be paying THEN go after the channels they carry and tell them exactly what you think you should be paying. Everyone is so quick to cancel services when the price goes up. But if each and every one of us got together to put a stop to all this foolishness, they would have to listen. BTW is you really are against this ectra tax, take it out on the CRTC, they are the ones in control of this mess-in-the-making!

The tax is garbage and we already pay too much, is the Rogers station going to have to pay, what about their advertisements. I think we need to stop this or I will cancel my services and that means home phone, internet and cable.

What a ridiculous way to make money especially with the recession.

As former employee of one the big broadcasters I know for a fact the only reason that there is any "Local Programming" is that it is mandated by the CRTC as a condition of the broadcaster's license and if given a chance the networks would drop all the "Local Programming" and replace it with syndicated American reruns.
