Stop the Tv Tax, haven't we paid enough money already. Our economy is on the edge and Big Networks' still want to take our money away to pay for their expenses. STOP THE TV TAX!

It is ridiculous how many extra expenses one has to pay to live here these days and another $10 a month for something like this is unacceptable ! Paychecks are starting to only cover bills. No more money for enjoying life !
Moving to somewhere else seems like the only option if "The Man" doesn't stop doing this to the citizens.

Regardless of the reason for increasing my bill it will force me to rationalize my viewing needs. In all likelihood I will simply slash my services to the minimum or look to some grey market options... Go ahead and raise taxes becuase both sides will effectively be losing!

I feel that We the consumers "pay" enough, and that to make us pay more is wrong especially when everyone is "hard up" for cash. I believe that if the Networks would spend their - Our money more wisely, then they would'nt be in this mess. This is just another cash grab, and I believe no amount of money will fix the mess they are saying they are in.

As a consumer, I feel that the CRTC should be thinking about us and not thinking about the Cable and Satellite companies. There is alot of pirating in this business, and a rate hike will just encourage hackers to keep on doing their thing so that these companies make less money.

The economy is in a recession, if the CRTC authorizes a rate hike, the consumers will pay and this will result in numerous cancellations for these companies. If any monetary gain was to be had, it would be lost due to the loss of clients.

I am sick and tired of Big Networks constantly complaining about needing more money. In my television universe (Satellite), I currently receive 681 channels. Of those channels 30 are CBC, 23 CTV, 13 GLOBAL and 8 CITY -- for a total of 74 that I must take because of decisions made by the CRTC! Each and every one of these broadcast the same shows at the same time -- I can only watch one at a time, therefore the rest do not get viewed (EVER). If Big Networks want to charge me to watch my local channel, then let me choose which ones of the these 74 that I want and I'll gladly pay for them, but to be forced to pay for all 74 is stupid.

Give Canadians the choice of which channels are worthy of surviving (based on sign-ups) and the whole matter will resolve itself in a short time.

We live in a democracy where choice is the linchpin of our society....just apparently not when it comes to our television viewing choices.

Big Networks are Monopolists not Capitalists.

I think that the answer was mentioned in the Toronto Star. Consumers should have total choice over what channels that they want to watch...as in NO PACKAGES WHATSOEVER. If they want to watch local channels, then they can pay for them. If not, then they can pay for the speciality channels. If some viewers such as my family only watch the news and a sports channel, then we should be paying for ONLY 2 channels NOT 20 or more in a package.

If there is a new tax on tv, we will cancel cable completely and use an aerial.

We pay enough now for TV. I live in Northwestern Ontario and there has been many jobs lost here and more to come(Forestry). People are having a hard time now and we do not need to pay more for TV, Hydro is outrages, gas..enough is enough!!

I get too much of my hard earned cash taken away from me legitimately, every paychech, to sit back and watch more of it be stolen to make already ridiculously rich networks even richer that they ought to be. Shame on them for trying to get away with highway robbery, and shame on you, CRTC if you allow them to succeed.

TV is complaining because their ad money is less because less customers are advertising so they need more money. What other way to make money is to go after the cabel and satellite subscribers. l disagree with this.
